Since we are a brand new community (barely 3 days old) We sort of dont have any staff besides myself ^^;
That being said, I have done something that I've never done before (so I hope this works) and made the Cadet group open to members who are joining. This doesnt mean that you are instantly a staff member and get control of the whole site to screw around with. This means that by requesting to join I will decide wether or not to let you join first and foremost, and should you be allowed to join the Cadets, you will begin moderator training (you can see why its called the Cadet group, and why the different levels of moderators are named after the military branches from AoT)
In this training you will learn the basics of being a moderator, and after finishing your training, or upon reaching a satisfactory level, you will be upgraded to Wall Garrison, or Board Moderator1. As a Garrison member, you will be allowed to choose a board you would like to be in charge of. If you prove capable of handling a board sufficiently, and have earned your place, you will be promoted to a Scout rank, or Category Moderator if you want to be promoted. As a category moderator, you will have reign over a entire category of your choosing. (for further information on categories, defer to Note 1 at the bottom) And finally if you have earned stuck with it long enough to earn my trust, I will promote you to a Military Police position. In such position you will be a Global Moderator, or a moderator that has control over every board on every category. Again, this promotion is optional, if you are happy staying a Board moderator, or a Category moderator that is up to you.2
Now dont all of you rush to be a staff member all at once. As the very overused, but very true quote from Spiderman goes "With great power comes great responsibility." Meaning that yes, being a staff member can be very rewarding in terms of being able to do things a regular member cant, being praised by members for helping them, and getting to go inside the elusive Staff Zone, it is also a lot of work. As a moderator you will have to keep check on members and help them if they ask you for help. This means that you patrol the board or category you are assigned to, and make sure that things are working smooth, and that nobody is breaking the rules. If you see somebody breaking the rules, for example making a thread about how they think another member is ugly or something (bullying) you have the power to "Lock" the thread so that no posts can be added or edited, and then you will have to report that to me via private message so I can handle the offender. If you are a higher up mod (Military Police) you have the ability to give the member a warning if they make such a offense. Locking threads, warnings, and other staff related privileges will all be covered in the Staff Zone faq sheet. Other powers and duties you will have as a staff member will be making sure that everybody is safe and that things are posted in the right areas. For example if you were in charge of monitoring the roleplay section and noticed somebody posting art there, you can tell that person they are posting in the wrong area (and if you have a high enough rank, you can move the thread to the correct area- in this case the art board) and then notify me of the person posting in the wrong place, so I can move it to the proper place.
Staff members will not be paid, since this site is non-profit, but as a staff member you do have more freedom over the forum than other members, and there may be special staff benefits at some point in time such as staff only contests and such with art or other things as prizes.
Forgot to post this, so Im editing it in: To request admittance to the Cadet program, do NOT private message me (unless 3 days have passed and you havent been responded to with a yes or no) what you do is you go to the Group tab of your profile, there you will see groups that are set to open and petition. The Cadet group will say "Request to Join" where you can request to join as a Cadet.
Note 1: Boards are not Categories, and while I frequently will refer to the site as a whole, as "The Board" the board that you will manage, is not the same thing as what I am talking about. A board in terms of a forum board, are the different areas under the categories. A few examples of a board are The Hangout, Intros, Music, Sports, etc. A few examples of a category where you will find said boards are General, All About You, and Misc.
Note 2: If at any time after I offer you a promotion, if you happen to have turned down my offer on being promoted and then decide you would like to accept the promotion, simply message me and I will adjust your rank accordingly.
